Ted goes back to the apartment and talks to his family back home. The midfielder and team captain, Roy Kent, even says that he never thought he would be coached by “Ronald McDonald” after Lasso complemented his career trajectory. Ted’s debut doesn’t really make an impact on them, and they are as nonchalant as ever. She even offers her employee, Higgins, a promotion as the new ‘Director of Football Operations’ for his help, and while he does like Ted, he (begrudgingly) accepts.Ĭoach Beard and Ted observe the team’s training session, and they then introduce themselves when the players are in the locker room. So naturally, she thinks that this is the perfect revenge against him. You see, her ex-husband, who cheated on her with multiple women, really loves the team with all his heart. She wishes to completely destroy the club’s reputation. It turns out, however, that Ted is just a pawn in the bigger game that Rebecca is playing. However, Rebecca comes to his aid and defends her new approach by calling it “The Lasso Way.” One reporter even asks him if his employment is a joke. She gives him a tour of the place, after which he is immediately thrust into a press conference. His inept knowledge of the game causes both the reporters and the fans to loathe Ted from the very beginning. The Kansas native then meets with Rebecca at the stadium. However, it seems that Ted is not fazed out one bit. The pair arrive in the UK and even visit Tower Bridge. On the plane, a football fan recognizes him but calls him crazy for taking the job due to the pressure he will eventually face. Ted Lasso travels to the UK with his friend and colleague, Coach Beard. Ted Lasso is then hired as the manager, based on the fact that he led a horrible team (although they played American football) to victory, winning them the national title. She does this because of his subpar performance and the fact that she does not like him one bit. Rebecca Walton fires the team’s current manager, George, and buys out the remainder of his contract. They lose 4-1 so Ted didn’t prove them wrong.Recently divorced Ms. ![]() As Ted walks on to the pitch, the fans chant “w*nker*. Sam feels very appreciative as he’s missing his home Nigeria. Ted wipes ketchup off Keeley’s face and the journalists are taking photos - trouble is lurking… The first gameīefore their game against Crystal Palace, Ted gets the players to wish Sam a happy birthday. She then says Jamie responds well to positive reinforcement. He asks what motivates Jamie and she says “Blow jobs”. Ted visits Keeley at a photoshoot and they both go for some food. Rebecca tells Ted to speak to Keeley as he has a rapport with her. Afterward, Ted tries to cheer her up and asks for some advice on the player Jamie. The Sun reporter (which comes with groans) asks Rebecca about her ex-husband’s new partner and she’s clearly impacted by it. Rebecca’s awkward press conferenceĪt a press conference, Ted Lasso takes questions confidently. This player has evidently got an attitude and will cause problems for Ted later down the line. Jamie puts gum in the collection box and Ted confronts him about it. It’s one of the player’s birthdays so Ted asks all the players to donate money for him. You can also tell Higgins likes Ted as well. The next day, Ted brings the same biscuits in for Rebecca and is still trying to create a bond. ![]() Rebecca watches on as Ted talks to Keeley - she’s definitely curious. She asks Higgins to find out who has the most influence in the changing room. Rebecca is concerned that Ted has a personality that people will love, which is ironic because she brought him the club for the absolute opposite. He pulls one of the players aside named Sam who is frustrated and tells him to be a goldfish because they have ten-second memories. He gets them to do seven verses seven and focusing on possession. Ted is a very optimistic person and is all about personal experience. He brings biscuits to Rebecca and she loves them. It’s their first day working for the football club. Ted Lasso wakes up and takes on the day with Coach Beard and grab a coffee.
